We are committed to advancing climate action and protecting the environment. Our goals are to reach net-zero emissions, and to reduce our negative impact on nature and people to zero. Through innovative and strategic decarbonisation initiatives, we will achieve net-zero in our operations and across our value chain by 2050 - a pathway aligned with the most robust climate science and approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). SD Guthrie was the first palm oil company to achieve this milestone.
Our palm oil supply chain will continue to apply our NDPE policy and Responsible Sourcing Guidelines. We are also using and repurposing waste from our operations, contributing to the health of the planet by recovering, recycling, or reusing biomass waste, utilising circular economy principles to reduce negative environmental impact.
We will continue to ensure our business causes zero harm to our workers, local communities, and those working and living within and around our palm oil operations. We are providing safe spaces to live and work by aligning with the most robust standards on labour rights and human rights, as well as best-in-class initiatives such as our Workers’ Voice programme. We are committed to ethical recruitment policies and have a zero-tolerance policy towards child exploitation.
Through all this, SD Guthrie is driving forward the palm oil industry’s transition to net-zero emissions by 2050, eliminating deforestation by 2025, promoting circularity, and ensuring the safety and rights of all who work within and around our operations.
