Air Emissions Management

We are committed to addressing the challenges posed by emissions from our mill operations, such as dust and smoke from chimneys and particles from crushing plants. Unlike our refineries that operate on natural gas, our mills require more robust solutions.

Therefore, we have improved compliance at all our 33 mills in Malaysia, with more stringent air emission standards by installing additional pollution control systems such as Electrostatic Precipitator and Vorcep. We have always complied with local environmental regulations. With the new limits required under the Clean Air Regulations 2014, we are upgrading our pollution control system to meet Total Particulate Matter (PM) of 150mg/m3 by December 2021 (from 400mg/m3 to limit value). Individual operating units report their air emission performance through our online Continuous Emission Monitoring System (CEMS).
